The aim of this paper is to explore the resilient solutions through promoting port digital transformation combing the consideration of port user and service provider. According to UNCTAD 2019 report, over 90 percent of global trade in terms of volume are carried by seaborne carriage. Ports play an important role in global trade and critical logistics infrastructure to facilitate regional trade activities, and providing high quality port service to port users is important managerial task. Since the outbreak of COVID 19, the port around the world suffers from congestion, disruption and serious delay. Therefore, applying intelligent, digital, sophisticated technology to improve port service from supply chain disruption has become popular topic among government, ocean carrier, and supply chain partner.
Therefore, this research aims to apply multilayer QFD (quality function deployment) framework to combine considerations of port service provider and port user, and their voices are transformed for building smart port service solutions. Port service provider-oriented HoQ (House of quality) and port user-oriented HoQ are obtained for prioritizing final resilient solutions for enhancing port service. An empirical study will be conducted, and implications based on result of this project will be revealed for port operator, maritime policy maker and stakeholder as decision support reference.
This paper presents a detailed analysis of humanitarian logistics and its components; the specification is to be able to identify and can be characterized once the disasters caused by natural phenomena are interconnected. From a qualitative methodology with an exploratory and non-experimental descriptive approach, analyze in detail three information bases referring to natural phenomena data and their implications. The first of these was the Center of research in epidemiology and disasters (EM-DAT), considered as an international database, second as a national level, the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED), and the third also considered a national level the drought monitor in Mexico (CONAGUA). Besides, several articles related to the subject matter were reviewed. Among the identified components are the following; the humanitarian logistics cycle according to the reviewed literature, the phases of disaster management in Mexico, the areas of logistics decision, the types of natural phenomena, and future trends of natural phenomena that could affect Mexico in a period very close. Finally, it carries out a statistic of the behavior of the components analyzed, as well as a series of conclusions in this regard. This analysis will help to be able to characterize the components involved in disaster risk management as well as the response of humanitarian logistics to different conditions and unforeseen situations of risk of which is the next type of disaster with the most significant possibility of occurrence and repercussions in Mexico.
The presentation aims to highlight importance of speed and flexibility as a key element of satisfying customers needs and win the markets. We assumed that having enough of goods is not the only priority number one in logistics and in customer-friendly approach. By many cases from different fields of business we proved that the biggest business difference is in having rationale, dynamic and very flexible supply chain management, by whom we could implement speed as a key driver of great dynamics for development in any field of the business. As an outcome we can only strongly recommend to spend additional sources to analyze competitors and to make supply chain and other logistic processes faster than the market standard.
