List of Abstracts 2023: WORKSHOP - CHALLENGES OF AI IN LOGISTICS AND SCM
Date: November 10, 2023
Artificial intelligence plays and important role in our live nowadays. It penetrates in many fields of human activities. The word artificial intelligence means the realisation of intelligence by technical means such especially by computers and their software using mainly machine learning and neural networks, but also fuzzy logic, evolutionary algorithms etc. The interpretation of artificial neural networks corresponds with biological sample. The artificial neural networks are used for example for time series prediction, self-driving cars control, translations, evaluation of phenomena etc. The evolutionary algorithms are used for optimization purposes such as travel sales problems, logistics solutions using autonomous and collaborative robots, distribution or pick up of goods, cutting plans and other purposes to results in reduce of costs and increase profit or welfare. The advantage of fuzzy logic theory serves to description and solution of problems with unprecise values and vague terms. The solution of complicated problems using artificial intelligence are quite often marked as a non-polynomial (NPN) problem demanding fast computers and newly invented quantum computers. The development of artificial intelligence is skyrocketing. The proofs are noticeable in using chatbots GPT in daily work in all branches of our life. Also, generative programming saves our time. Interesting projects are also connection of human brain via neurochip on worldwide network. The development will lead in super intelligence. The serious question is what will happen when artificial intelligence will be superior to human intelligence. Will this mean the extinction of humans? Nobody knows now.
This presentation will highlight the transition from traditional "purchasing" to the broader realm of "Procurement". A key feature will be the demonstration of an automated negotiation tool used for tail spending at Skoda Auto. Attendees will gain insights into its functionality and share the vision of future potential. Concluding, I will introduce the vision of an co-pilot for procurement professionals, capable of analysing data, communications, and contracts, providing actionable insights for negotiations. Join us in exploring AI's transformative role in procurement.
