Since 2016, Ron van Duin has been Professor in Port and City Logistics at the Centre of Expertise HRTech at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. In addition, Ron has been working for more than 32 years as a University Professor in Logistics at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management of Delft University of Technology.
Ron is an expert in the field of urban freight and port logistics. He is a highly regarded international member of many committees of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and the International Institute for City Logistics. In the Netherlands, he is a member of the National Multimodal Freight Transport Working Group (Top Sector Logistics Netherlands). He supervised many logistics master thesis students (> 250), PhD-students (6), author of many scientific publications (>250, H-index=34) and reviewer/editor of several journals.
Ron is an expert in the field of urban and port logistics. Ron has established several research communities, including Greening Corridors and Low Impact Last Mile Logistics (LILS), bringing together multidisciplinary researchers, students, policymakers and practitioners.
